This coming April 16-18, the first "Prayer Summit" in the history of the Christian Reformed Church will take place at All Nations CRC in Lake View Terrace, California. Pastors, prayer leaders, and intercessors from across the US and Canada will come together to pray for the CRC and its North American and worldwide mission. The gathering is not designed as a conference to provide information about prayer, but a "summit," focused on praying to our Triune God in response the the Lord's invitation "that requests, prayers, intercession, and thanksgiving be made for everyone" (I Timothy 2:1). Northeast Community Transformation, the diaconal ministry of Classes Hudson and Hackensack, invites you to take note of two events they are hosting in November.In response to the CRC's initiatives to encourage new kinds of vitality in the office of deacon, NECT will be holding a deacons' forum at Covenant CRC in North Haledon from 9-12 on Saturday, November 5. The conversation is for deacons, elders, pastors, and all who minister in the community and want to encourage deacons to be "champions" for the church in living out the good news of the gospel. Eastern Regional Ministries of the CRC is sponsoring a Sonship Retreat at the Ladore Conference Center in Waymart, PA on October 14-15, 2011. Sonship is a discipling program written from a Reformed perspective, encouraging people to apply theological truth to daily life.
