Classis Hudson agenda posted for May 2011 meeting

The agenda for the spring meeting of Classis Hudson, to be held at the Christian Health Care Center in Wyckoff, NJ on May 12, 2011, is now complete and is available here.  Questions or comments may be addressed to the Stated Clerk.Because this meeting starts at 7pm and, we hope, will be concluded before 10pm, there will be no scheduled presentations from denominational agency representatives, and only essential business presented by classical committees. As part of this meeting, Classis hopes to take time to discuss the Agenda for Synod 2011.  The table of contents begins on page 3 of the agenda.  Study committee reports can be found towards the bottom of the synodical resources page.

Training event: Children Are the Church

New City Kids Church in Jersey City offers an amazingly practical training event on May 20-21 for teens and adults involved in children's ministry, community outreach, and teen leadership development.  Please see the attached flyer for more information about the Children Are the Church event. For those who attended the March classis meeting, this was the event recommended by Paul Ingeneri for the benefits it has had for the ministry of Crossroads Community Church in Flanders.  Those who are interested may call Trevor Rubingh for details (his contact information is on the flyer).

Community development forum

Classis Hudson's diaconal ministry, Northeast Community Trasnformation, will be hosting a spring barbeque at Covenant CRC in North Haledon, on Saturday, May 21 from 12-3 pm.  This event will highlight a number of the ministry partnerships that CRCs in our area have been developing, and provide an opportunity for those interested in community development ministry to fellowship and celebrate the work God is doing through the churches.  Deacons, pastors, and anyone interested in community ministry is encouraged to attend.  For more information, please contact NECT.
